FC Joker III – FC Merivälja

First away match in Raasiku (which is biggest school gym in Baltics) against FC Joker III finished with 2:5 win for FC Merivälja.

Match was harder then expected. Joker team played compact in defense and it was hard to break trough in first halftime. In 11th minute they used the counter attack and took the lead trough Karusar. FC Merivälja answered in next minute with equalizer, after nice solo effort from Tebyanian. FC Merivälja was most of the time in possession, but failed to create any concrete chances in first halftime. Joker stroke again after a well played side out, finished by Jaškov with strong shot from inside the box. Couple of minuted after Valner found Salakka, who equalized with powerful shot from 9m zone. 2:2 was also the halftime score.

In second half time FC Merivälja continued to build the play and after Tebyanian was fouled in 26th minute, Selišek quickly took the free kick and passed to Valner who was alone on the right side and scored for 2:3 lead. From that moment on there was only one team playing. FC Merivälja created several good chances, but Bürkland in opponents goal made some spectacular saves, keeping the result tight.

Finally, 7 minutes before the end, Jakubov’s precise and powerful shot from outside the box, after corner pass from Kelder, finished in the top right corner for comfortable 2:4. Bürkland denied couple more promising attacks, until finally in last minute Kelder found again Jakubov with a nice pass for final 2:5.

Result is fair, as Joker team put up good fight today with excellent Bürkland in the goal, but FC Merivälja used their experience and brought match safely to the end, adding new three points to the table.
