Today we suffered first loss in clash of two undefeated teams in IAFA league. Avengers took an easy 2:0 lead with two early goals in first couple of minutes after few silly mistakes in our defense. For most of the first halftime we were attacking, creating chance after chance, while Avengers were scoring goals from counter attacks. Halftime ended with 1:4. It was just one of those matches where everything goes wrong for one team, while every shot from opponent finishes in the goal.
In second halftime Avengers were just controlling the result from first halftime, while Merivälja was taking more and more risks in attempt to lower the score. Match finished with 2:5 win for Avengers and two red cards (each on one side) by referee Makarov who didn’t have his best day today. He let extremely rough and dangerous play while on the other hand he was making up cards for literally nothing. Luckily his poor whistling didn’t affect the result on the field today. Avengers were simply better and deserved to win.
We are now firmly sitting in second place, just a point behind new league leaders and are waiting new matches in January.
