First win for FC Merivälja in opening round of IAFA futsal league against MFCI.
With both teams missing some standard players, FC Merivälja started the match much better, creating several good chances trough Selišek, Tebyanian and Kuusk, but MFCI goalkeeper Ütsik was outstanding today. First goal came after precise free kick from Salakka in 3rd minute. Brorrson increased the lead to 2:0 and Tebyanian made it 3:0 minute before half-time.
It seemed like three points were in the bag, especially since we played really well in first halftime, while MFCI didn’t create practically nothing up front.
We started second halftime with couple of good scoring opportunities, but Ütsik made few unbelievable saves, keeping the score from first halftime untouched. In 13th minute Kelder lowered the score, after a nice pass from Laul, who was MFCI’s best field player today. Five minutes before the end we managed to score an own goal, after confusion in our defense, making the match tense again without good reason. Luckily we increased our lead soon after, when the shot from Brorrson ended up trough legs of Ütsik. MFCI haven’t given up just yet and lowered the score to 4:3 trough Kuusmaa only a minute before the end. We managed to keep the possession in that last minute and secured first win of the season in IAFA league.
